STRATEGI COPING DALAM MENGHADAPI STRES PADA MAHASISWA PENYUSUN SKRIPSI PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK BANGUNANUNIVERSITAS NEGERI PADANG ANGKATAN 2016

Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini berawal dari masalah tidak sedikit ditemukan kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswa dalam menyusun skripsi. Oleh karena itu dengan adanya kesulitan seperti kurangnya sumber dalam menyusun skripsi serta mahasiswa yang mengalami kesibukan lain maka banyak mahasiswa mengalami stres. Dampak dari stres tersebut mahasiswa kesulitan dalam menyusun skripsi dan menganggap bahwa skripsi merupakan suatu beban pikiran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi berada pada kategori apakah strategi coping yang dipergunakan mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan angkatan 2016 selama penyusunan skripsi.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2016 prodi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan yang sedang menyusun skripsi berjumlah 80 orang. Sedangkan untuk sampel penelitian ini jumlahnya adalah 65 orang yang didapatkan menggunakan perhitungan berdasarkan tabel Cohen dengan teknik random sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui angket yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa prodi PTB angkatan 2016 menggunakan skala likert.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan, dapat disimpulkan hasil penelitian bahwa strategi coping menghadapi stres mahasiswa dalam menyusun skripsi pada angkatan 2016 prodi PTB berada pada kategori cukup baik. Hasil analisis yang didapat dari tiap strategi coping dengan persentase Problem Focused Coping adalah 64 (98,5%) orang mahasiswa dikategorikan cukup baik ketika mengelola stres dalam menyusun skripsi. Untuk kategori Emosional Focused Coping terdapat 61 (93,8%) orang mahasiswa dikategorikan cukup baik ketika mengelola stres dalam menyusun skripsi. Dari kedua strategi coping tersebut, tidak ada mahasiswa yang memiliki strategi coping dikategorikan buruk ketika mengelola stres dalam menyusun skripsi. Artinya mahasiswa prodi PTB UNP angkatan 2016 mampu melakukan coping (pengelolaan) stres dalam menyusun skripsi.

Abstract: This research originated from the problems that many students experienced in compiling their thesis. Therefore, with difficulties such as a lack of resources in compiling a thesis and students who experience other activities, many students experience stress. The impact of stress is that students have difficulty in compiling a thesis and think that the thesis is a burden on the mind. This study aims to identify which category the coping strategy is used by students of the 2016 class of Building Engineering Education study program during the preparation of their thesis.
This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The population of this study were students of the 2016 class of the Building Engineering Education study program who were compiling their thesis totaling 80 people. As for the sample of this study, the number is 65 people obtained using calculations based on Cohen's table with random sampling techniques. The research data was collected through a questionnaire given to students of the 2016 class of PTB study programs using a Likert scale.
Based on the results of the research carried out, it can be concluded that the results of the study show that coping strategies to deal with student stress in compiling a thesis in the 2016 class of PTB study program are in the fairly good category. The results of the analysis obtained from each coping strategy with a percentage of Problem Focused Coping were 64 (98.5%) students were categorized as good enough when managing stress in preparing their thesis. For the Emotional Focused Coping category, there were 61 (93.8%) students categorized as good enough when managing stress in composing their thesis. Of the two coping strategies, no student had a bad coping strategy when managing stress in their thesis. This means that students of PTB UNP class of 2016 are able to do stress coping (management) in preparing their thesis.
